NMF
The Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) is a mixture of water-soluble and hygroscopic substances that helps reduce water evaporation from the skin. It can make up about 20-30% of the dry residue of the stratum corneum and is primarily composed of sugars, amino acids, and urea. It helps maintain the right level of hydration and contributes to the acidification of the pH, ensuring healthy, protected, and deeply hydrated skin.
Germ
Wheat germ oil is cold-pressed from the germ of Triticum sativum. This oil, extracted from grains rich in starches and proteins, is characterized by high concentrations of vitamin E and vitamin A, offering exceptional nourishing and moisturizing properties.
The high concentrations of fatty acids and minerals in wheat germ oil give this natural product the ability to combat skin dryness deeply, reducing the appearance of scars and promoting skin elasticity. Thanks to the presence of phytosterols, vitamin D, and vitamin K, wheat germ oil has an action against free radicals, helping to prevent skin aging.
Urea
Urea is a molecule produced by the human body and is one of the key components of the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF). Derived from protein metabolism, urea acts as a skin humectant, retaining moisture levels and functioning as both a moisturizer and emollient.
